APFBC exhibitions were held to promote the products made by the rural communities under the project. The exhibition in Pragjyoti ITA Centre, Machkhowa, Guwahati, Assam on October 6 during the 62nd Wildlife Week, 2016. Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Forest and Environment Pramila Rani Brahma, DGP Mukesh Sahai took part in the event.
The other exhibition was held in the Kohora Range, Kaziranga National Park on October 17 during the Assam and Nagaland Chief Ministers’ meet. Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Nagaland Chief Minister T.R. Zeliang, Nagaland MP Neiphiu Rio, Assam Chief Secretary V.K. Pipersenia, DGP Mukesh Sahai and other senior officials took part in this event.
Assam Project on Forest and Biodiversity Conservation Society (APFBC Society) was created by Government of Assam as a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV). It is co-funded by Agence Francaise de Developpement and State Government of Assam. It envisages integration of sustainable forest management interventions with special emphasis on income generation and livelihood security of forest dependent communities which covers entire states of Assam.
