| NGO Support Programme (NGOSP) |

NGO Support Programme aims at reinforcing livelihood systems of poor people who have little or no access to mainstream assistance. NGOSP aims to promote, nurture, and develop NGOs. RGVN provides financial support to NGOs by way of :

Returnable Grants/Revolving Fund for any livelihood activity; |
|
Outright Grants to meet programme support and institutional development costs of the NGO and managerial support in the context of the livelihood programme being supported by RGVN. |

| Funding Process Under NGOSP |

1. |
The field executive makes a personal visit to the applicant NGO to ascertain that :
a) The project falls within the RGVN framework i.e. if it is within the RGVN area of operation and if it is income generating ;
b) If the organization has the capacity to carry out the project,also look into the track record, people and their background, financial systems, past balance sheets, accounting systems etc. |
2. |
Scrutiny of the project by Field Executives on the followng aspects:
- Viability, feasibility
-NGO's relationship with people
Special skills needed and if available |
3. |
Project Brief is prepared taking into account:
Organisational analysis
- Past performance
- People and their background
- Analysis of the Project
- Financial viability
- Mode of profit sharing

Local Advisory Committee (LAC) comprising of a RGVN Board member, Regional Coordinator, Executive Director and a eminent person in the area of "development", reviews and approves / defers / rejects the Project based on its perception of:
- the intent of the NGO
- the felt needs of the area and its people
- the degree of community participation
- the potential for growth, not just of the enterprise, but as a cohesive group

5. |
Grant approved and funds released as needed. Project Coordination Committee (PCC) is constituted to monitor the progress of the project. |

| NGO Micro Finance (NGO-MF) |
| |
NGOs which have partnered with RGVN for 5-6 years under NGOSP, availed more than 2 loans from RGVN and have evolved to handle larger credit, generally fall under the purview of NGO-MF. RGVN takes the credit risk to work with these NGOs with borrowed fund and grooms them into sustainable MFIs. |
